His appointed judges are probably out best bet. The federal government could make a new law to help us. I'm not sure how it would be worded or if it would hold up to legal scrutiny. That last way would be to withhold federal funding for the violation of our rights. The with holding of money was used to change the drinking age from 18 to 21.
He could have his AG file a lawsuit against the state for violating the 2A rights of US Citizens.

I supported Rob last election with monetary contributions, placing signs and my vote. I will do so again if his is the Republican candidate.
That brings me to my question. Does the NYS Republican Party have any other possible candidates for governor? This is not a knock on Rob! I only want monkey face out! I will vote ABC. So are there any others that could become serious candidates for governor?

Not sure, at one point they were testing the waters for my cousin Chris. But he decided to get out of politics, which was definitely good for him and his family, but bad for Patriot minded people in this state. I think Rob is going to be the only real viable option we have.

I think Rob is a very strong candidate, look at how well he did given what he was up against.
With some actual support from the national Republican party he could have a real chance.
My choice would be to run him again, but with some real support. It depends on what the national mood does though, if the Trump train keeps picking up speed, you never know.

The best thing that Trump can do for us right now (not just for SAFE, but for the whole country) is to stack SCOTUS with as many conservative minded judges like Scalia as possible. He's about guaranteed 2 picks, hopefully a third if Kennedy goes. Having his new AG sue NY will be useless until the makeup of SCOTUS swings in our favor. That's why NYSRPA withdrew their suit after Scalia passed away.

As much as I would love to see President Trump say that SAFE has to go, I am not comfortable with that. I still believe the the Federal Government should not be able to overreach state laws. This becomes a real slippery slope. I am a firm believer that the Federal Governments ONLY role should be to provide Protection (I'm not taking about making "common-sense" laws, I'm talking Military, etc.!!), and disaster relief, PERIOD!
Keep in mind that sooner or later we are going to get someone who doesn't think like we do, and once precedent has been set, there will be no turning back. I realize clinton enacted the AWB in 1994, but there are currently states who have voted for nullification of federal gun laws. This vote of nullification carries some real weight, especially given the make-up of a more constitutional SCOTUS (if it gets that far!).
I think the best thing to do is to get this in front of the SCOTUS, and have them rule that it is unconstitutional. That is how it needs to go away!
