Interesting video on this non-Kevlar armor - Citizen Armor: Carbon NT Protection (Body Armor Shooting Test)

Very pricey (around $1,000 depending on what you're getting), but seems thinner and more comfortable than regular Kevlar. Would be interesting to see how it stacks up to rifle rounds, but with no hard/trauma plate probably not too well.

Looks pretty cool, but the website seems long on promises and short on facts.

I would like to see specific test result data before I'd drop any $$.

Agreed until some professional agency picks them up I won't bet my life on them. Carbon nano tubes have a lot of potential we haven't fully figured out. They very well could work well with this sort of application but being untested I'm going to have to pass. For the record I think the next generation of body armor will be some sort of semi solid that turns solid on impact.

I remember seeing that system advertised 10 years ago as being the wave of the future. After that nothing but crickets.

The back pack inserts don't seem that expensive.

They are the only thing I see an actual NIJ for rating on that site.

As for the rest, for all I know they dusted a couple grams of nanotubes on a sheet of PE and called it armor, then tested it to stop a 9mm, at 150 ft/sec.
