Cleaning Friends Rifles

A friend has asked if I would clean his rifles for him. While he takes basic are of his rifles, he does not know how to do a full breakdown and cleaning. If I do it for him, is it legal for him to leave the guns at my house for a few days while I clean them. I have no restrictions of any kind that prohibit me from owning firearms.

There's nothing in the unsafe law that I could find about loaning or borrowing. Only transferring ownership.

Just in case, tell him if he rats you out he'll loose his toy.

Personally I don't let anyone touch my guns and will not take any guns from anyone under any circumstances.

Looking through NY's confusing gun laws, I see nothing illegal about it as long as they are rifles and you do not live in NYC, where you need a permit even for long guns. If they are handguns, then its a no go unless your friend brings them to you and stays there while you clean them.

thats is what i have heard but with the topic .. do i need a gunsmith license ( but not in business for it ) .. not really .. you just can't keep have the receiver with out the owner there .. rifles n shot guns .. i'm just borrowing it .. pistol .. just bring the slide and barrel .. keep the rest .. or you will have to hang out with me ..
