Two observations...

Comey has a pretty well established network of friends who were not on the government payroll, but are very well informed reguarding very specific aspects of his work - including the content of personal phone diaries and memos memorializing conversations.

His well informed friends have well established contacts in the media who are so well known and trusted that they are willing to put their credibility on the line (I know, ha ha ha) publishing allegations from these 'anonymous' sources.

I wonder if Comey and his anonymous friends know anything about the leaks that happened when Comey still had a job.

As mentioned, I believe that Comey already stated under oath that nobody tried to influence his investigations, ergo:
"secret" memo of Trump pressuring him + Comey lying under oath to Congress = Perjury?

Note the qualifier of Comey "believes" therefore it is harder to prove slander if it is his "opinion."
