Coming to New Yorkistan

Well I got my airline ticket today for my trip back to New Yorkistan for the regular deer season. i will be flying into Scranton airport on the Thursday right before it opens on Saturday.
Looking forward to meeting several of you during my visit back there.

We generally hunt the harpursville area, Windsor, and otselic areas.
I should ne able to get out and do some duck & goose hunting.

There is a set of woods up by Coventry that I like for deer hunting.

When you come to turning stone from Binghamton you will pass within 5 miles of the house so it won't be much a detour.

I got the formica down on mine yesterday, I think I will remount the presses & powder measures tonight.

Will you be needing any brass? If you do let.me know, I have a bunch and can get used brass out here easily. I picked my brother up a butt load of 308, some 45/70, 444, 222 Remington

I got my son some 22Remjet, 223, 38spl and a few other calibers.

I mounted the two presses and the two powder measures so I'm back in business. I have been only loading what we will be using up. I will do a bunch of loading after I get back and we have rain every day until spring.

I have close to four gallons or so of range brass to separate and clean.



I have a curtain I can close to keep dust off of things. I bought the material at jo Ann fabric.



I really enjoy my little gun room and loading area.

There is a spot over by Coventry that I like, it is about 3/4 mile in off an old dirt road. My son has four different bucks hanging right behind his place in Harpursville.
When I lived back there I went squirrel hunting every day from just before sun up until 9 am or so. I always was on the look out for deer sign.

I hunted with my oldest son, we use to shoot around three hundred squirrels each every year.
Made a shit load of squirrel soup.


It all comes down to being in the right spot at the right time and don't sctew up.

I've been talking to my kids and a few friends back there in New Yorkistan, they said the deer are moving. My son has a nice buck behind his place that has a screwed up antler on the left side. Probably the same one that had a screwed up antler last year. There are four different bucks working the area by his tree stand.

I will be hunting up towards Coventry first day.
I get into scranton Thursday night, Friday I will buy my hunting license and sight my rifle in, I have a Browning semi auto in 30/06. It has a scope on it, I also have an older marlin 336 in 30/30, no scope.

I lived out here in Washington state for 19 years, i bought one big game license out here, never again. The hunting out here SUCKS. On the west side of the Cascade Mountains if you see five or six deer all season you are lucky.

We will be loading up in the sardine can in about 5 minutes. We will be in Binghamton at 11.45 PM tonight.
