Conceal Carry with Optics

I was wondering what your thoughts are on concealing with optics on a pistol. I’m REALLY REALLY REALLY wanting a CZ P10. And I would like an optics ready one when they come in stock (god knows when). I was wondering if you would have to turn the optic on if you have to draw it or are there ones that work differently and might automatically turn on? Or should I just try and get an iron sight one?

I don't know what dot they use, but most can be left on all the time with the battery getting changed annually (or less frequently).

I prefer running RDS on my carry guns. I run both Holosuns and Trijicon. I personally prefer the Holosun due to the reticle. The reticle is always left on. Change out the battery once a year. Don’t over think it.

1st as for the turning on or what not.. buy a quality dot.. no particular order but here is the list to choose from, fuck any other option (for now)

Trijicon RMR (RM06, RM07 or RM09)

Holosun. (407c, 507c, 508t or 509t)

Aimpoint ACRO P2

Honorable mentioned (because some have had good luck with it and even the US Marshals SOG adopted it.. but me personally I would not use) Leupold DPP

For not duty use you can also look at and many people are EDCing the Trijicon SRO.


All of these you turn on and forget about it.. set a reminder once every calander year to swap out the batteries, I do it on my Bday week (I'm not exactly sure of the DPP battery life cause I don't care about it so it may be sooner than one year) there is a 99% chance that the battery you take out every year and throw away will still have another 1-2 years of juice left but don't be cheap and risk it, change your battery once a year.

Next as for what P10 to buy... buy the optics ready one.. Pro tip the optics ready version comes with a cover plate for the optic cut area so you can use it without an optic....

Below is an example of my G34 MOS (glock optic ready system)

Here is a stock photo of a Gen 5 Glock MOS (the same gun I carry daily) and you can see where the optic would go it's filled in just like a non MOS gun..

Current problem is finding a optics ready 10rd p10c EVERYWHERE is sold out. Love the advice, thanks for taking your time to write it, truly means a lot. And ones that are in stock are being bidded on and are going for just about $700 and more

If you can find a non 10 round p10c OR then see if they can swap the mags out for you or even pin them or take them off your hands for a few dollar store credit

The standard CZ75 magazines will fit the P07 (and should SHOULD fit the P10c as well) it won't be flush fitting, think G17 magazine in a G19 gun.

They will rattle a little bit but are great for range mags and are about 10-15 bucks less than P10c mags

I got the Blue Angel jets a few miles down the road because this is one of their bases. Could always take one of those.

Yes or no? One problem here is I don’t think I can have a flashlight on my pistol. Need to know opinions ASAP, they got a 20% deal going on right now

Vedder makes a good holster, but if you are looking for something with a wml look at phlster floodlight.

ETA: I own a Vedder and do use it on occasion to carry. Not one of my every day holsters though.
