I forgot about this case but am happy about the ruling. Maybe this will make others think twice about these frivolous lawsuits and getting left footing the bill(s). Probably not. All parties that could have been held accountable are dead. It's over. It's time to move on.

Cut and dry, the judgement could not have been more clear.
However, the plaintiffs are going to appeal.
NOW they should be held accountable for all of the defendants costs. Then sued for a frivolous lawsuit.

Their lawyers should be accountable.

That's what would really put a stop to this. The people don't have deep pockets, and they can just declare bankruptcy and call it the price for "punishing" the people they blame. Plus, many people are too stupid to know a lawsuit is frivolous to begin with, especially if they are carried away with emotion.

Their lawyers have no such excuses. Hold the plaintiff's lawyers financially responsible for the cost for a frivolous lawsuit and you'll see a lot less of them. Right now if I had 50k to drop up front I am sure I could find a lawyer who'd take it and file suit that Frito-lay had brainwashed my dog if I wanted.
