My stepdad has bad PTSD, been to combat 3 times, IED blown off right next to him, best friend died, multiple friends died, 80% disabled.
My stepdad went to the VA for help with it, his male doctor was great and helping, they switched his doctor and this asshole lady says she’s calling CPS.
The CPS will probably pull me out of class and let’s not forget this is NY and we know how much they love VETS. I don’t want to say a word other than go kiss my ass because whatever I say they can twist and use anything against us.

Can I use my right to remain silent? It’s a guaranteed right but Ik I’m not being detained or arrested. Need advise @GOPerfect @Airborneguy

Secondly, I am not medical doctor, but do some simple research on Lithium Orotate, it can be purchased inexpensively at any reputable store where supplements and vitamins are sold. Unlike Big Pharma's crappy prescription Lithium, which can cause liver/kidney damage b/c they had to make a version that could be patented for profit that requires high doses, the OTC Lithium Orotate is more bio-available, or easier to absorb, as it is in a natural state, and far lower doses will work, and it is cheap.

Lithium is just a common metal and some are lucky enough to have it naturally in their drinking water, it can actually help the brain heal and rebuild myelin in the PNS, check it out.

That’s normal shit that happens.
As far as you keeping silent about it they would likely look at it as you trying to protect him and look at that negatively. Since he already likely admitted to doing it I would tell CPS it happened, but it wasn’t a big deal and put a positive spin on it. Well as positive as it can be right? If the guy needs help he needs help. As for CPS getting involved I don’t think much of them and likely nothing would come of it. It takes so much for them to do anything it’s ridiculous.

You are under no obligation to speak to them.
You can respectfully refuse and tell them you want to go back to class.
They cannot force you to talk.
A lot of times a school will have a counselor sit in with CPS - talk to them and tell them you do not want to speak to CPS.

You could refuse to talk to them. Or you could say, "We're doing great, thanks. I'm going back to class now." Or you could milk it and sit and talk with them for as long as you can stretch it out for.

Decide what you want to do and stick with the plan. If you decide not to talk, don't talk. Most people will start running on and on when they're uncomfortable - verbal diarrhea. Interviewers know this and try and use it to their benefit.

For me personally, if someone wants to talk to me (sales people, pan handlers, government workers, etc.) and I'm not trying to get anything out of the interaction, I don't talk to them.

From the start, no, do not speak with them. Stare at them while they speak to you. Just stare. After you freak them out a bit, tell them you have nothing to say. Let them know, prior to speaking with them, you want a lawyer.

There are many lawyers that represent the needs of children. Sorry, you are still considered a child.

Not sure what's worse, doctors who do that or CPS. My stepson is a bit touched, he has anger issues. Not once has any of his doctors threatened to call CPS, even when he told them how I wrap him up when he gets out of control. We've had LEOs and CPS here many times. Mostly LEOs. He has literally threatened officers, even grabbed a chair to throw at a trooper. I snatched the chair from his hands before it flew then threw him to the ground and wrapped him up. The Sheriff there just smiled and the trooper stood there talking to him trying to get through his head that he needed to relax. Sometimes a father/son relationship may get a bit rough but what comes out of it is what matters. It sounds like your stepfather did you no harm, as I've done my stepson no harm. Just a bit of pain to slow the mind down before the body and mouth react lol. They used to send multiple units as he is known as a runner and possible officer safety. The LEOs in the area are amazingly patient with people. Thankfully he's been seeing much improvement, and no LEOs in a long time lol.

CPS has a tendency to try to push kids into saying something they don't mean, so if you're not precise with your statements they will turn it on you. I have seen a couple reasonable CPS workers, and some who should be working somewhere else. One was pissing me off so bad after 15 minutes of holding back I slammed the tailgate down on my truck and told her "Let me draw you a fucking picture seems you're too fucking incompetent to understand directions", and proceeded to go off on her using the tailgate to draw on. She didn't like being put in her place and the trooper that escorted her smiled and refused to back her.
CPS doesn't want to look at the whole storyline, all they want to do is disrupt families.
If you do decide to talk to them, think first how you will respond to them, and don't trust them.

You never have to speak to them. They aren’t law enforcement in any way. You don’t even have to speak to the police if you don’t want to, obviously the same applies to them. BUT, they don’t have the same levels of proof as us. They can make whatever determination they feel is necessary initially, then let the family court judge sort it out.

Everyone on here always talks of the 2A being a natural right to self protection unbound by the laws of man. So also is the 1A in your freedom to speak your mind or NOT speak your mind. No one can force you to speak to a matter that you don't wish to. As this carries into legal and govt. agencies you are also protected by the 5A. Be strong and follow your conviction.

Unfortunately, you are still a child, which inherently means some idiot who works for the government is probably not going to take you seriously. Cps takes the if it saves one mentality too far sometimes.

They will try to tell you that as a minor you have to talk, they'll tell you that unless you yell them what they want to know they will decide for themselves, they will tell you a million untruths. It all doesn't matter what they say.

Remember:

You have a Right not to speak or say anything. You don't have to invoke it, just don't say anything. If you want to say something, you can tell them the truth, that you are uncomfortable saying anything as you're unsure as to how it may be interpreted and you want either your parent or an attorney present to protect your interests. That's it, real simple... Asking for such is not an admission of anything.

Meaning: you have no power to affect what they may or may not do, what they think or how they'll react. Child advocate or attorney present or no talking. School is their turf suggest your advocate or attorney’s office for conversation. After all it is all about your comfort zone. Also tell them you are going to record all conversations so you can share them with your parents.

Then there is this! Very good advice.

IMO say as little as possible

They will try to trick you or "read between the lines" of what you are saying and interpret it however they choose to do so.

If you and your dad are on good terms and are working things out yourself and that is your genuine personal wish then you don't want the government getting involved. If they make it their business you will lose some personal control on the situation, if you want their assistance then by all means tell them that, but if you don't want their involvement say as absolutely little as possible no matter what They say to you, they will try to trigger you a little to start speaking more just ignore it.

Tell them you and your family are doing fine and you have nothing further to say to them. Just keep repeating it anytime they rephrase their question. They will rephrase the same questions over and over don't fall into their trap.

If they keep pushing tell them they are making you uncomfortable and you want a law guardian as an advocate.
