Amends the Criminal Code of 2012. Creates the offense of parental bullying. Provides that a parent or legal guardian of a minor commits parental bullying when he or she knowingly and with the intent to discipline, embarrass, or alter the behavior of the minor, transmits any verbal or visual message that the parent or legal guardian reasonably believes would coerce, intimidate, harass, or cause substantial emotional distress to the minor. Provides that parental bullying is a petty offense. Provides that if a person is convicted of parental bullying, the court shall order that person to pay for the costs of prosecution and that a portion of any fine imposed, as determined by the court, be placed in escrow for the purchase of a certificate of deposit for use by the victim when he or she attains 18 years of age

Look up the definition of coerce: "persuade (an unwilling person) to do something by using force or threats."

So now "Do your room or else you cannot go out with your friends" is coercion and therefore would be illegal.

So this guy also entered another similar bill that makes parent bullying the same crime and penalty if it is done on the internet (as opposed to the OP of Parent Bullying in real life).

A brief glance at the other recent bills sponsored / introduced by this Illinois state rep. was telling about his priorities. Some bills included the following.

Demands Census does not ever use address of prison for location / residence of prisoner regardless of prison term.

Makes it a crime and fines for the posting of booking photos or criminal history in media or on the internet.

Codifies in multiple bills that a LEO, if not making an arrest, shall not stop or question any person in a public place when the officer reasonably infers from the circumstances that the person is committing, is about to commit, or has committed a crime.

Requires that all and any records of an arrest or criminal charges are expunged following a dismissal or acquittal.

Makes it a law that prisoners in a jail or correctional facility may not be placed in isolated confinement for more than 10 consecutive days or for more than 10 days in any 180-day period and provides that while out of cell, committed persons may have access to job assignments, educational classes, vocational classes, meals, recreation, yard or gymnasium, day room, medical appointments, visits, and group therapy.

Requires every school, college, hospital, as well higher education events (with 1000+ attending said event) have metal detectors at every access point to prevent concealed carried weapons.
