New York state lawmakers hoping they can have a say on the Amazon project may be out of luck.


A little-known state board made up of representatives of the governor and state legislative leaders that typically signs off on capital projects would not need to approve a $505 million building grant for Amazon, the Cuomo administration says.

“Not all capital grants have to go through the (Public Authorities Control Board),” said Cuomo budget director Robert Mujica, who also chairs the board.

The joke is ultimately still on Amazon as governor dickface will tax rape all that back in no time at all. As usual it's the NYS taxpayers that are getting hosed.

I try to tell people that having Amazon in your backyard is NOT a good idea. Yes, they will bring in decent paying jobs. But what else are they bringing with them?

property rates and rent in that area are about to skyrocket. In a couple year,s the state is going to see a lot of property tax money sitting out there not being collected. So property tax in that area is also going to increase. anything within 50 miles of that location is going to become a 'high rent district' and probably unlivable by 'the common citizen

The "decent paying" job is a sham...

They are saying "an average of $150,000" a year. That is the average which means there are many more jobs that are paying lower then that.

Combine that with what it cost and what it will cost to live in Long Island city or any other part of Queens after Amazon moves in and cause a housing crises where a shoe box will cost you $4000 a month to live rent.

The whole thing is fucked up and another example of how FUAC just does what he thinks is best. Even the people he put into power in this last election are going against him with this.

Fuck you Cuomo, how much did Amazon say they will give you in 2020 when you run for PODUS?

Eventually they will take your house, you don't get a choice when payroll takes it right out of your paycheck and you pay a tax every time you buy something.

You don't own your house or property even if you paid your mortgage off or bought it cash, you don't get paid your real salary and you pay just to buy something.

Fucked up huh?

Taxes are not a necessary evil.... Misuse of that tax money is just evil.

Cuomo also recognized that the state in competing with others like Texas and Florida, which have no income taxes, had to make its offer attractive or face losing the project.

which is a prime example of why the state needs to lower taxes across the board, the dipshit hasn't figured out that if you reduce taxes, you could actually bring in more money. Sure, some social programs will have to be cut back for a couple of years until new business and income can make up the difference, but in the long run, the state will be much better off

Exactly ... so why pay taxes? Sounds ALOT like slavery doesn't it?? The govt owns you and what you THINK you own!!
