Gov. Cuomo on Monday night held a New York City fund-raiser for his 2018 reelection campaign, but he sounded like a man with higher aspirations.
“It’s not enough to criticize the current administration,” Cuomo said without mentioning President Trump by name. “What we (Democrats) have to demonstrate in this country is we got the message in November and that we have reconnected with the middle class.”
The governor said progressive victories in New York during his first two terms — including the legalization of same-sex marriage, enactment of a $15-an-hour minimum wage and a free public college tuition program for some students — could serve as a blueprint for the rest of the country.
