Most states that have legalized have allowed cash sales. They are not legalizing anything, They are re-regulating it. As a Pistol License Holder, I am warning you now. Do not partake from a dispensary. They will use that to yank your license.
If you look all states that have done it make very little off of it. When all factors and costs are in it hardly seems worth it. Shit were already in the hole millions on it. We’ve been fighting about it for how long, now we will develop laws/policies for it, a licensing scheme, over sight, a tax structure. No one thinks of all these costs. Then we will send inspectors and auditors and spend money there and many other places. Police will need weed breathalyzers, increased jail and court costs. The costs will add up.NY is the first state that will do this and end up losing $. I'm sure they thought the whole thing through. Low income individuals will get an additional stipend to cover their consumption, other taxes will go up because revenue didn't meet budget projections, and street level sales and associated crime will continue to rise. Oh yeah, it will be mandatory to sanitize your joint before passing it to a friend, and cough into your mask to prevent the spread.
I think they had revenue from this in last years budget, and by not passing, it became part of the deficit. If you look all states that have done it make very little off of it. Take into account the costs associated with locking people up for a plant. I have no doubt that changes the equation significantly. If you look all states that have done it make very little off of it. Organized crime prospers in a black market. Legalize said <taboo activity here> and the crime syndicates no longer have funding. Legalize all drugs, open the borders, and legalize prostitution. The Mexican cartels will go extinct in less than a year and the sex trafficking trade will all but disappear. At one time gambling (numbers, etc) and drug use were illegal and "Gangbusters" fighting those evils was a popular radio program. Since then the state has taken over the organized crime and taxes it for its own benefit. Today, government is organized crime. Evolution?
That’s the most absurd thing I’ve ever read on here.Organized crime prospers in a black market. Legalize said <taboo activity here> and the crime syndicates no longer have funding. Ever heard of Prohibition and what went on while it was in effect? That’s the most absurd thing I’ve ever read on here.
Oh right.....That’s the most absurd thing I’ve ever read on here.
I think you're looking at this the wrong way. This is an issue of freedom, not whether or not it is profitable for the state. If you look all states that have done it make very little off of it. Absolutely. We talk a lot about endless wars on here and the impact they have on the American taxpayer. The longest running war in history (and the one we've also lost the worst at) is the war on drugs.Wow. You really believe what you just typed?
Serious question....
Do you not believe people have a right to do as they please with their body? Including (but not limited to) prostitution and drug consumption? If you are against individual autonomy, why own a firearm?

Why should you get to dictate that which determines if drugs and guns are equivalents? It's the same thing as these looney lefties that want to force you to call a tranny a woman. Only difference is your opinion is a conservative one. In most cases forcing things on adults isn't good, regardless of the reasoning. Let people make their decisions and live with the consequences, that's the way IMO.Owning a firearm is not even in the same realm as drug use and whores.
Making drugs illegal doesn't really do anything productive. It's a feel good measure, the same way that banning guns etc. doesn't really do anything productive.
Good thing drugs are banned, that way nobody has them.... Oh, wait...
All these drug laws do is incarcerate people for them doing what they want to their own bodies. About the only drug law I support is no selling to minors under severe penalty, mainly for the reason that minors are under custodial care of a parent because they aren't yet prepared to make major decisions. Outside of that I don't care if you want to mainline heroin and die in 2 years from it. Just don't come crawling to me when you fuck yourself up with drugs, but I still think you should be free to make that choice.
Well homeboy who just shot up the supermarket in CO is costing taxpayers a lot. With that logic, I would think you support an AW ban. Other's poor personal choices with AR-15's sure costs a lot of taxpayer energy and money.Nope. Not all of the time. In today's current societal structure, We the People are on the hook for the personal choices of others.
As long as I, as a payer of taxes, need to be forced to care for these personal choices, I against your notion of full personal choices.
Says who? LOLOwning a firearm is not even in the same realm as drug use and whores.

Your line of thinking requires an assumption that drug consumption will increase because they are made legal.I would love to see these junkies OD. But the issue is...
Society interferes all of the time. We save these people from their choices. We spend billions and billions of dollars each and every year to save them. When all of the saving ends, then I will support full legalization of this garbage!
