So I've been using a DFW magazine holster for maybe a few months now and the last week or so I've become pretty disappointed. The retention of the magazine is good enough where the magazine isn't going anywhere, but I have the correct size for my single stack magazine and I've had to tighten it like 5 times and it no longer does anything. It stopped bothering me because if the magazine is staying put, then it shouldn't matter if it's fitting super tight around it. Well, since the magazine slides so far down still, it makes deployment difficult for quick reloads which is not good. Getting to the worst part now is that within the last week I had a bullet fall out of my pant leg while walking up some stairs... like 3 stairs? I figured okay, it was an unlikely oddity... Then it happened two more times later in the week. This thing has a nice modern take and profile, but it's obviously poorly designed. I can't believe it rides so far down that simply walking pops out ammunition. I'm pissed off because now I have to modify it or look into something else. Before anyone asks, no I don't have a fat gut pushing it down. I'm not chubby and have visible abdominal muscles and wear a proper EDC gun belt always. I prefer wearing appendix for a visual confirmation, full control, and easy excess. The example below is the same style, but not mine (I don't take pictures with camo backgrounds). Anyone else try one of these?
