Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I do t like far-right extremist groups or white supremacists but all I can say is they are not the ones committing crimes for the most part. Yes they can get troublesome at times and they are always high profile but something tells me that them being the biggest threat to America is a play on words. The left may not say they want to overthrow the government but they have actually done it. The left does not play by any rules and they get away with it.

I agree, but the use of the word "radicalize" has negative connotations and I stay away from it. They use it of course. This is what they're doing now to marginalize dissenting opinions and remove honest debate from the process. Washington passes laws, that if read by most Americans, would be rejected. They know this and assert their authority anyway and claim that it is the people will. People are clearly being groomed to not go against the state even when it's a simple difference of opinion. The founders were adamant about the 1st amendment and that dissenting opinions be heard regardless of how outrageous they are . Lets be honest, the founders today would be flagged as radicals against this current government.

The filter thing was corrected back in the 70's. The real poison is in the over 300 additives that the tobacco companies dont have to disclose to ANYBODY, not you, not me, not any govt agency. I’m sure there are people on the far-right that are plotting to overthrow the government but I’m far more certain there are people on the far-left that have infiltrated the government and are doing wrong. Those people have lied, cheated, stolen, and many other things to destabilize this country and make us weaker. They have lied and twisted enough facts for long enough that seemingly half of the country believes it supports it and even slightly more. So I’ll ask who is more successful and who is more dangerous? I do not think it’s the few far-right crazies that tried to storm the capitol building. Oh in that many more lefties have stormed government buildings. One in Buffalo tried to light the city or federal building on fire a few years back and got a very lenient sentence. Wrong. Always treating the symptom rather than the cause.

The biggest threat to the US are the policies and actions that divide and drive many to political extremes.

Ideology evolves through observation. It is a reactionary process. There is some level of validity within those observations whether one agrees with the larger premise or not.

Ignoring the observational perspectives of the opposition furthers the partisan divide. But mutually considering those perspectives requires compromise. Compromise moves us back to center. A united, empowered middle is just what they don't want. That would be the biggest threat to the political power structure and developing caste system. For the common folk, compromise challenges our assumptions and we resist it.

The dominant party will control the definitions of and apply the "extremist" labels and regardless of which that is, the divide must be maintained. Political demographics aside, sadly, the left is that dominate force and has been for the past 50 years. Much of which has been accomplished through the media. Case in point - this article lacks detail of those "extremist" definitions, lacks breadth and was written by Konstantin Toropin, a News Editor for CNN.
