In a first, U.S. blames Russia for cyber attacks on energy grid

Those meddling Russians are at it again. Whether the Russians really are (or are conveniently being blamed essentially for an act of war) doesn't matter so much as that it's being done and our grid is vulnerable .

Does it have to actually be Russian Government or could it be a miscreant in Russian territory full well knowing cyber investigation in their territory is poor and would go unlikely unchecked?

Could it be someone routing attacks on our utilities through Russian Internet cyber-infrastructure? Some rouge individual or group well hidden with cyber skills could be devastating. I certainly hope it's treated as a hostile act of war.

Anyone versed enough to wage cyber attacks on our grid will also be versed enough to make them appear to be coming from Russia. Personally, I don't think Russia cares enough about messing with the US. I think it would be more likely to be China, NK, or Iran.

Everything NK has developed, it's safe to assume Iran currently has or will have the same technology and capabilities.

And if Iran gets it, then terrorists are all but assured of it as well.
