Fire at Hi-Point offices

I don't think it was too big, but the front office building at Hi-Point caught fire. Kind of odd to have a fire start at 5am. You'd think they would have sprinklers in the building too.

The State Fire Marshals Office is continuing to investigate an early Monday morning fire at Hi-Point Fire Arms that caused heavy damage to the offices of the gun manufacturer.

Around 7 a.m., employees standing across the street from the plant at 1015 Springmill St. were asked to come in to work at other buildings which were not affected by the fire in the front building.

Apparently over 10,000 finished guns with a total market value of $129.00 were destroyed. The criminal gangs of Chicago issued a statement, saying they were concerned because without readily available High Point 9s and 40s, they would not be able to bust caps at rival gang members.
