That’s a fake crime, as far as the guns go.
Get on some juries and exercise jury nullification. Am I counting right, they managed 24 counts for four guns and five people?! Seriously?!?!???? Even if I do 4 times 5, that’s 20, so there’s a lot of overcharging here.
The charges make the guns which apparently weren’t used in this incident worse than what ACTUALLY happened: I’d have looked beyond just fleeing, and gone to reckless endangerment, whatever they can do for property damage, and probably assault. Maybe some MIP charges for the minors if they actually could prove the minors had any of those guns on their person. Seriously, the flight and chase was more dangerous than the guns ultimately were…so…this comes off like they were gleeful about the guns and didn’t care about the pursuit. Also, it’s pretty rich to charge five people over four guns, never mind the charge count. What a farce. Bad priorities. We are really overcriminalized.
