There is no news here and Parkland changed nothing with retired swamp monster Justice Stevens. It is no suprise that the New York Times is once again dusting off works of this jerk to make him relevant again. Remember four years ago this old senile justice became the darling of the progressive left and the New York Times when he wrote a book and hit the talk show circuit suggesting changes to the Constitution. He was always against private ownership of guns.
He suggests that Americans should only have the right to arms while serving in the militia.
He insists Congress should limit free speech rights / spending of Conservative Pacs but not liberal unions. Years ago he called for a change to the Constitution so the like of the NRA could not endorse candidates, make donations, or lobby but he wanted wording to not limit AARP, the teachers associations or planned parenthood.
He says the Constitution should ban Capital punishment.
He strongly opposes term limits.
He believes there should be no laws against widely used recreational drugs.
He endorses the continuation of quota systems.
He essentially wants the Constitution changed to have judges and not the states determine election districts.
He was known to ridicule Scalia, and praise Ginsberg.
He was a strong proponent of government ownership and seizure of private property constantly battleing Scalia's strong stands on property rights.
The New York Times is doing all it can do right now to placate the Soros ilk. In this nation we have rights and the New York Times editors can not limit Americans to what this rag sanctimoniously thinks we need.
Thank you for displaying your bias.
Now, if you were on the bench for ANY gun-related case, it must now be revisited.
Oh. Who would have known? I always thought SCOTUS was fair and unbiased and ruled as per the Constitution.
That may be one of the biggest flaws in the constitution. Going through all the effort of diversifying power, in order to simply consolidate it in the hands of a few lifetime appointed judges. With a consistently split legislature, the chances of getting a judge removed by 2/3 vote is simply unimaginable.
I find this article is a good response to these repeal the 2A a-holes:

Well...we don't have many conservatives representing us in congress. We've mostly got go-along-get-along Republicans which are merely the right wing of the Democrat party.Liberals push gun control, conservatives do nothing to stop it except talk, write articles and worthless minority opinions on the SC. This bullshit is getting old.

I want to know where all of the constitutionalists are.
