So Franklin Armory made waves last year building up to Shot show when they released a picture of what appeared to be a 11.5" AR-15 with a rifle stock.
The big catch was they claimed it wasnt an NFA item and not considered an SBR. There was a lot of speculation and guessing on how they did this. Then Shot Show happened and it turned out to be a smooth bore "other" that fired 5.56.
***edit*** ok it's not smooth bore, it has lands and grooves but they are straight not twisted so not tech. rifled
I figured this died almost instantly after it was finally revealed how they did it and how horribly inaccurate it was (even with the weird proprietary nerf football rounds that they were going to sell to increase accuracy by like a fraction)
While I give them credit for trying something and more importantly giving the NFA the middle finger it really isnt something worth anything.
And yet here we are a year later and they are releasing it again now in .300blackout
