Front Sight Post Visibility

I have the Magpul Pro flip up front and rear sights on one of my AR's. The front sight post disappears against very dark backgrounds in low light. While I know where the sight is I would like it to be more visible and take the guesswork out of the equation in a quick life or death situation if it should ever arise. I do have a flashlight on the rifle but I don't want to count on that to help. Is there anything I can use do to make the front post more visible in low light situations?

Just a quick guess,,,,find some glow in the dark paint and dip the tip of it in it,,,,or even white or red

Replace the front post with a HIVIZ one on the cheap. I have one on my KSG and it's great. Or pony up for one with tritium if your worried about being in the dark.

Well what's a guy going to do if there's not enough to do all of his toes. That stuff is too expensive to throw out.

I like Gold paint, without any brush marks!
Think smooth, paint the sight upside down and let it drip off the sight, so it perfectly smooth.

The military way is to blacken it with a lighter or some kind of flame. I've also seen guys use nail polish. It would be simpler to use contrasting color targets though.

I did once see this guy, Johnson was his name our resident battery idiot, stick an ear plug on the front sight post. Not kidding.

I tried but the perps never want to hold them, they just run away.

Thanks for the ideas. I also thought about some high viz paint on the post. I'll look into the tritium sights too.

I got you all beat on the nail polish. My finger nails and toe nails always match my heels and purse.
