So I'm once again considering a Glock and I come across this:

My question is how long do you all think before Glock adds front serrations to the gen 5 models?

No idea if they will offer it for gen 5. I like FS, but id prefer a gen 5 w/o to a gen 4. Someday i planned to have them added to my 3rd gen.

I still wish that my Gen 4 Glock 19 didn't have finger grooves.

I dont mind finger grooves, even though i have xl hands. I suppose i got used to it.. but i do want a g5.

Just laid hands on a Gen 4 19. Finger grooves just do not line up well with my hand. keeps me from getting that really high grip. Gen 5 or nothing for me.

Agreed. I've just had to get used to mine.

I've taken it to many pistol courses and fired thousands of training rounds through it. So, it works and I'm a reasonable shot with it. I just wish it was more comfortable for me. I really like how my 43 with Talon rubber-texture tape feels.

I undercut my trigger guard, allowing my hand to sit higher so the finger grooves are less noticeable as well.

Yeah I've seen some that were butchered beyond repair

San Antonio Laser Engraving will sand off the finger grooves and factory texture and custom laser etch and stipple whatever you want on the frame. They don’t seem to have a traditional website and do business through Facebook. Check them out on FB or YouTube. They do some pretty cool stuff.

Why worry about resale if you're not happy with the gun? Your not going to loose much on a used 19 with thousands of rounds through it anyway.

I like to use em for unchambering live rounds. I place my palm over the ejection port while grasping the forward slide and I use the magwell to funnel the live round to a convenient receptacle.
Also not for nothing but I think its pleasing to the eye as well. Just that tiny little bit breaks up the slab sided appearance of the Glock considerably.

Yeah. I never understood that. Who here customises a gun for himself to sell it later? Who gives a rat's ass about the resale value. You customized it to keep it.

You can't do that without the grooves? I thought you drove a truck? Your hand strength should be adequate.

Well you don't want the slide to slip forward and catch the round in the port, possibly detonating it in your hand.

Thats what i want.. gen5, custom slide and stippling. Something like this in a gen5

Here's the thing though, whats it cost? The problem with all these Gucci Glocks is that, to me, the just aren't worth the considerable price.
Nah, I'd much rather have a factory stock Gen 5 Glock with yhe forward serations and call it good at $500 bucks or so. Maybe add a trigger and better sights but thats it.

Focus on what you get out of it. High capacity, reliability, ability to share mags with your carbine, tons of aftermarket parts, ect.
