I'm assuming you're joking. If not, than I'm certainly frightened of you're rationality to be pulling a voting lever and being on a board such as this. That said, of course your options are nonstarters. This state had the opportunity to kick FUAC to the curb last election, but not enough people got off their collective asses on election day. Whether it was laziness or Astorino didn't sell himself well enough to upstate and western NY I do not know. What I do know is we got fucked with another term of a corrupt socialist criminal fvck! Do I think Astorino would've been a be all, end all......no, but surely better than what we've got or what you're proposing (in jest or to be argumentative I'm sure........I hope!)
That's why I asked if anyone knew this potential candidate and will he be able to sell himself state wide if he's decent.

I listen to his speech while driving home last night. It was horrible and made it quiet apparent he's a terrible candidate.i would love to see someone beat FUAC but this ain't the person to do it.

There are three declared GOP candidates right now. John DeFrancisco is currently Deputy Majority Leader of the New York Senate. Joel Giambra is a former Erie County Executive. And Brian Kolb is Minority Leader of the New York State Assembly.
Giambra is a left-leaning douchebag with zero name recognition outside of the seven westernmost counties in New York. He stands absolutely ZERO chance against Cuomo, based upon name recognition alone.
Kolb is currently in the most powerless "position of authority" in the state. He has even less name recognition that Giambra, and he has virtually zero leadership skills. He is OK on the Second Amendment though. I have been one of his constituents for years, but I won't vote for him. He spends as much time behind a mic as Schumer, and does even less work.
DeFrancisco battled Flanagan for the position of Majority Leader in the NYS Senate. Of the three, he holds the most conservative values. He's best on most of the things that we care about. He also has the best name recognition. But at 70, he is low-energy.
If I had to pick one of the three right now, DeFran is my guy. But none of them stand a chance against Cuomo.

I agree with that. The only hesitation I would have is giambra. I don’t knkw that I can vote for him. He went to my church and his wife was friends with my mother in law. He treated his wife and kids very poorly. He would stand in church with this smug ass look on his face. He would ignore everyone and just walk out the door. I think he’s a jerk and a smug ass. I won’t vote for cuomo, but it would be very difficult to vote for giambra if I even could.

I'm no fan of Chris Christie, but he did veto at least 2 gun control bills.
FUAC would never ever veto any gun control bills... So the idea of Chris Christie being worse than Cuomo is laughable.
Clinton running for the NYS Governor is very, very, unlikely IMO.
In fact, That is such a stretch that last week another member here that I respect brought that up.

Most reasonable people would assume he meant any viable candidate he would vote for over coumo. Assuming most people understand that on a gun forum we would expect a pro-gun candidate. Saying someone like Clinton is obviously unrealistic.

Common sense dictates that when someone says that "no one" could be worse than Cuomo. Therefore "ABC."
"no one" as in "anybody" is not to be taken literally. When other members say that, they are obviously referring to someone who would actually be running against Cuomo and possibly win.
I think that bringing up people that are not actually going to be running or couldn't run for the NYS Governor position just to prove a their point, is a mute point all together.
For an example,
Do I think that California's Governor Jerry Brown would be worse for us gun owners in NYS? Yes I do.
Would Jerry Brown be worse for NYS than Cuomo in general, I think so.
But here is the thing, Jerry Brown will not ever be running for the NYS Governor position,
so therefore bringing his name into the equation adds nothing of value to the discussion.

I have lived in John Drfrancisco’s district for many years. I’ve met and talked with him on several occasions over the years. Mr. Defrancisco is pro 2A , voted against SAFE, is a proponent of fiscal responsibility and is a man of much integrity, but at 70 years old he is no firebrand. Unfortunately he probably should have thrown his hat into the ring 10 years ago. There are just Way Too many people in this state who love to suck from the gov’t teat wether it be from social service programs or major money grants down state. None of those type people will find Mr. Defrancisco’s Integrity very appealing.

Another high profile Democrat isn't going to run against the sitting Democrat governor who is running as well. It could happen but it rarely does. Regardless, unless you are a registered Democrat, you can't vote in that primary so you have to wait until the actual election to vote.
