Gregory William Loel Timm was identified as the person behind the wheel of the van that struck the tent set up the parking lot of a Walmart Superstore at the corner of Atlantic and Kernan boulevards about 3:50 p.m. Saturday.


Timm is accused of pulling up, driving through the tent and striking their tables.

Aggregated assault ? Why not attempted murder ?

He drove a van (a deadly weapon if ever there was one) into a crowd on purpose.

If he'd been shooting at them would they have called it "aggregated assault" then too ?

ACLU is going to have to jump in and defend this poor slob's right to film his "accident" and his right to express himself by flipping the bird at those volunteers who just happened to be in the way when his foot failed to make contact with the brake pedal.

Of course, in NY IIRC, this guy would be out on no bail, as vehicular manslaughter falls under Bail Reform. Just like the illegal who killed someone recently with his vehicle and fled the scene: no bail and an appearance ticket.

Things are not getting "sporty" out there; they have been for awhile now, and all of this is bound to come to a head sooner or later.

Law abiding people are coming to the conclusion that following the law is for the suckers born every minute.

The Social Contract is shattered. We're all just waiting for the rat a tat tat of the first salvo, whether we want it or not.

Not knowing Florida law, I can only speculate, but its probably a safe bet that Florida has an "aggravated negligent vehicular manslaughter" type of charge that should have pertained regardless of intent or lack thereof.

Murderous intent can be very hard to prove, even if any given murder might be easy to prove in a court of law based on the evidence.

If the perp cries innocence and claims it was an accident, has no priors, gets a competent attorney, keeps mouth his shut, and hasn't made any social media posts supporting antifa and his Bernie bros, proving attempted murder might be a high bar for a prosecutor to reach in this day and age when murders, rapists, kidnappers, pedophiles and the like walk our streets because of a revolving door JustUs legal system filled with bleeding hearts who love criminals over and above law abiding citizens.
