Major announcement!!!
You know how much I have missed you guys. In recent months, and even last year, a lot of you wanted me to set up another event somewhere. The issue was that there were not a lot of options that would have suited what was needed to do the event well.
Then, I found a place that would work!
After some considerable discussion and planning, The Ontario Rod and Gun has agreed to play host for our new training event on Wednesday evenings! YES! We are back in action!
This training event will offer you the chance to practice your concealed carry type skills, meet and hang out with some like minded and responsible concealed carriers, and both refine your skills and learn more!
Some evenings will be scenario driven, while others will have a specific skill or a qualification to complete. Every evening of the event will be challenging enough to make you want to shoot twice - or more! We have steel, cardboard, paper.....maybe some moving targets, and a whole lot of other surprises!
Now, here's the important part. I committed for 10 weeks, starting July 10 and running until September 11. We have two weeks after that for 'rain out days' just in case. Last year did not go well financially for the event and although I said that I would start it and run it for the season, I lost my butt on it.
YOU can make this season much better. As I said, I have committed to ten weeks. The condition was that I need to have the funding all upfront for the 10 weeks in order to start. Want to know how YOU can help make this happen? Here you go:
This is a limited time offer to those of you that are serious about this event and want to make it happen. You can pre pay for 10 weeks and I'll discount your costs down so that you end up paying for 8 weeks and you'll get 2 for free!
The rates are going to be as follows: 15.00 per night for drop ins. BUT, you get to shoot as many times as there is room- for that night!!! No extra run fee!
Option one:
If you opt to pre pay, the cost is actually 12.00 per might or 120.00 for 10 nights, and you get 2 free nights. You also get to enjoy the ability to shoot as many times that evening as you wish. No extra charge. You can opt for the FULL SEASON here: https://safeinrochester.com/course/wednesday-ccw-full-season/
https://safeinrochester.com/course/wednesday-ccw-full-season/
Option two:
If you want to start small, you can opt in for a half 'season' at 60.00 for 5 nights. With this package, you'll get one night free. You can choose the HALF Season here: https://safeinrochester.com/course/wednesday-ccw-half-season/
The good thing about pre paying for either the FULL or HALF season? You won't forget to bring cash or have to stop for change! We'll give you a laminated punch card to bring - just keep it in your shooting bag. When you arrive, we'll check you in and punch your card.
Now for the pressure part: If you are interested and you want to make this event happen, do your part and commit now. The more people pre pay and commit, the better chances that the event happens. When we hit the minimum number for baseline costs, we are a go! 14 of you can do it. That's all it will take. FOURTEEN of you can ensure the event starts and goes until the 10 weeks are up.
Other details for the event:
Hours: The first run will be at 330 and then hourly (or as people show up) until close at either sundown or 9pm, whichever come first. Setup will be at 230pm each week. Volunteers to help set up and tear down are always welcome!
If we get rained out, then I will post a note on the FaceBook event page. Everyone else that does not use Facebook can call. The only weather events that will cancel us is HEAVY rain, high winds, or lightning. Other than that, we're shooting!
What you will need:
A handgun in a defensive configuration.
A quality holster (Nothing made by Uncle Mikes, Blackhawk, or anything that is not specifically made for your gun model. Other carry modes can be accepted but check first.
A magazine carrying method
Spare magazines (We suggest 3 at a minimum, 4 or 5 if possible)
Eye and ear protection
Clothing and stable, closed toe footwear for the outdoors
Sunscreen and or bugspray
Of course, if you have a scenario or skill you'd like to work on, all you have to do is let me know.
How will you sign up for each of the evenings?
I am looking into using Practiscore to allow you to sign in, select your time slot, register, and maybe even pay (If you did not opt for the pre paid option)- I will have details very shortly. For now, We will do it 'Old School' where you can email or call me and I'll drop your name on a time slot.
What's next? Use one of the links above and register for either the FULL or HALF season option and that will get the ball rolling!
What questions do YOU have?
