I was fortunate enough to grow up in a family full of sportsmen and women. While my dad fostered my love for hunting, it was my grandmother, Dorris, who made bird hunting such a big part of our family tradition.

When we are done traveling the country, we are seriously considering buying a place in the Black Hills of SD, it magnificent. It get cold AF there but thats ok, if we can live free with a LOT less Government intrusion

The better question is why do state employees use state/taxpayer funded resources on the clock to screw off making videos?

Can't speak for the rest of the State but over 20 years ago the State took our computers off line and a special request was needed to access the internet.

I don't like the fact that public agencies (police, fire, EMS, State/Federal gov't) are even allowed to use social media. It should be not an acceptable "form of communications" for them.

If they want to communicate, they should use traditional news and newspaper outlets, or post it on their official government website.

I for one don't use any social media applications or platforms. I go to the official website if I want my information.

Certain platforms can be useful for communicating things to the public from PDs, FDs, and other .gov agencies, especially in an emergency.

When you've got government employees on the clock using their government issued device to mindlessly watch idiotic cat videos on tik tok is when theres problems.

However they go to migrate to those platforms first. I don't know how many times nothing on the government website, but supposedly all over social media that you can't find it unless you have an account.

It also allows for incorrect information to be passed along because it's too "instant". No vetting. Someone can mindlessly type something then it's all over the place.

Any social media does not constitute what is formally presented on a true government website, mailing, or even a qualified newspaper.

and they must have a comment section .. NYSP does not .. there in violation of the 1st amendment .. redress the govt ..
