At 10:30am today State Senators Brad Hoylman, Anna Kaplan and Zellnor Myrie, along with Assemblymembers Patricia Fahy, Chuck Lavine and Linda Rosenthal, will join New Yorkers Against Gun Violence for a virtual press conference to call for the passage of state legislation to ban ghost guns, create civil liability for the gun industry, require microstamping technology for guns in New York, and end the school-to-prison pipeline.

If civil liability for Gun manufactures passes in NYS no new gun s will be sold here. It will be worse than NYs. Manufacturers will stop allowing their products to be sold in nys.

What I wonder is if I buy a gun outside of nys can I still use an ffl to ship it to nys or will they pass some liability onto them.

Is Ford at fault when someone drives one of the cars they made while drunk? No, because you can't hold the manufacturer liable when someone blatantly/criminally misuses a product. This is just BS responsibility shifting.

so basically you are saying the same thing the Law is saying.

Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act:

"Prohibits a qualified civil liability action from being brought ... for damages, punitive damages, injunctive or declaratory relief, abatement, restitution, fines, penalties, or other relief resulting from the criminal or unlawful misuse of a firearm."

So explain how this is "responsibility shifting"? This is simply stating, in Law, that a manufacturer cannot be held responsible for someone else's personal choices. This is no way exonerates them if they manufacture a faulty product.

Or are you arguing that firearms manufacturers have to suffer malicious lawsuits everytime a Democrat shoots up a school? I mean, you DO support a tyrannical regime, after all. I can see you cheering as the State tries to drive firearms manufacturers out of business by utilizing the full power and monetary resources they possess to bankrupt the manufacturer with frivolous lawsuits.
