Planning on going? It will be my first as a vendor, I am really nervous! I hope to see some friendly faces.
I wanted to come up for the show, but I think I caught a hangover last night.. A two hour drive just doesn't sound fun today..Bumping this thread. This is a great show. I will be there with my Wife on Saturday. Most likely after 12:00 noon. Hopefully will be able to meet some people from here.
Quite a few vendors that I know get help from friends or people that hang out in their shops. When I was in the Uniformed Services I used to volunteer at local shops to learn new skills. Gun stores, computer stores, coffee shops, auto parts/ mechanics shops. I would make friends with the owners of those shops and works for them on weekends in exchange for the knowledge that passed on. I guess that is why I am a jack of all trades now.I can say I got my feet wet and my pants pooped! Not literally, just nerve racking. Very good practice for next month. Learned a lot, there are vendors that have unpaid help, must be groupies. There are vendors who have paid help, been doing it for years. For us, it was dh and I for the majority and it was a lot of work. The help we had we greatly appreciate from G and Mrs. G. Lots of ways to improve which will come with time.
Pleased to meet Gonzobird and Mrs. G.
We do have a sign but, it is small. The banner did not arrive in time for the show. Attendance was down this year. The vendors I spoke with said it was either so-so or not so good. I have not decided yet as I have a bunch of paperwork to finish and sort. I like the facility for this show. Nice area and overall, nice people. Did more talking than I have in a long time. Some people have some really great stories to tell. The Rotary Members were a great bunch of people.

To help in exchange for knowledg is becoming a lost "skill".
We had five tables right next to the DEC set up, towards the concession area. Four tables had long guns on them.
