as required here in Rockland Co, after 5 (?) handguns they say you must have a safe. well i got one and recently is has gotten too small, must have gotten it wet?
as you may know they are expensive!
I Have been shopping around on Craigslist and such. the other day a friend offered me a safe for free with one catch, its open but he doesn't remember the combo.
So i call around to locksmiths and to reset the combo surprisingly ranges for $150 all the way down to $30!
surprisingly the $30 is a guy who is a factory authorized Gardall safe guy.
so i now have a 250LBS safe with a mechanical dial for $30!

so many safes on Craigslist are without combos, if you are on a budget and need one, you can get a lot of safe for little money. (oh and many seem to be moving, so they can be had for way less than they are asking if you like to haggle!)
