Holster Maintenance

I went to put on my holster today and it fell off. I usually wear it at the 3 o'clock position, religiously. Today I wanted to try 4 o'clock, and one of the clips fell off. After wiping the tears from my eyes I saw that it has small screws instead of a rivet. I never thought to inspect it before or even clean it. How routinely should I be checking it?

I got one of those Cobra Shelby holsters from Blue line TAC. It's been pretty good so far.

I check my Alien Gear holsters often, they have screws too. Havent had a loose one in the two years ive owned them. I do tighten them every few months or so.
