I saw a video on YouTube of a guy putting six rat traps on the back side, near the top of the sign.

At the distance seen, the kid should not have too many welts unless the guy cranked up the velocity. Plus its entry level equipment and not too accurate. This is close to what most Police pepper ball guns are. Think of them as the Hi-Point of paintball world.
There are other vids of kids doing a" run and grab " under a hail of paintballs.

This one on the other hand is a 10yr old tournament level gun. Notice the string of paint and the hits on the shepards hook flower stand.
