Hunted follows nine teams of two in a real-life manhunt as they attempt the nearly impossible task of disappearing in today’s vast digital world as highly skilled investigators combine state-of-the-art tracking methods with traditional tactics to pursue and catch them. From searching their targets’ homes and scouring their internet and cell phone histories, to identifying behavioral patterns, Hunters in the field and Command Center investigators work together to identify clues to potential hiding places and collaborators that can ultimately lead to capture. Will the anxiety of being fugitives on the run cause teams to make a critical error, or will they be able to stay off the grid long enough to avoid being found within 100,000 square miles of the southeastern United States? Started watching it when it started, wasn't expecting much. I find myself staying with it to see how folks get found. It is amazing what surveillance means are out there, and available to "Hunters"! Kinda scary!

I've watched it from the beginning. It has an interesting concept. I'm still amazed about the tech, like the license plate readers. I'm surprised that the show has access to them. It's a little ridiculous what the government can do.

On a side note, people are idiots. You have to lay low. Get out in the woods and stay there. It's only 4 weeks. Everyone should have enough food on hand to live for at least a few. If you have to surface, find friends of friends that have some allegiance to a mutual friend.

Not hard to get off the grid, but you have to go deep. Otherwise there's 11 million criminal migrants who wouldn't stand a chance! And yes, a tent, no electronics, a backpack filled with survival meals, water purification, some first aid and simple medicine and you're good. 4 weeks? For $250,000, yeah, I'm in!!! Lol...

Remember, this reality TV BS is very scripted, made to make the appearance that it's not. Any tech you're seeing is scratching the surface of what's actually available, plate readers is old news, lmao...

Most people are making it to the 14 day mark. They're surfacing at that time for supplies.

The girls that got caught last night surfaced to go get Taco Bell. The license plate of a car they borrowed (that the hunters knew about), got picked up on their way into town. The girls stopped at Taco Bell and decided to eat in the parking lot rather than take it back to their camp.

You mean like the 2 idiot chicks that avoided them for 14 days, then decided to reward themselves for avoiding the hunters for 2 weeks; with Taco Bell... AND were picked up for that stupidity. Dumb asses!! But then again, this is the society we live in!!

This is an interesting series where 9 couples have one month to avoid capture by a 32 person squad of Military, Police, US Marshals, other Feds, Cyber Security experts and other top professionals. Winning couple (if any) gets a $250,000 cash prize. They have a one hour head start before the Hunters are alerted and the chase starts. The hunted can go anywhere they want in a 4-5 state area.

Those being hunted are given a debit card with $500 in it, but can only take out $100 at a time. They also have to agree that their entire lives can be researched and their homes and vehicles searched.

Are you ready for the series premiere of Hunted, airing Sunday, Jan. 22 after the AFC Championship game? Not so fast—you've gotta know the rules first!

We already know the new series follows nine teams of two who must go on the run and evade capture for 28 days, but just what else is involved?

These are the rules of the hunt:

1. Fugitives must stay within a 100,000-square mile hunt zone.
2. Fugitives will be given a one-hour head start before Hunters are alerted.
3. Fugitives are provided limited funds.
4. Command Center is given only a name, photo, and last known location.
5. Fugitives that evade capture win $250,000 per team.

I wonder if they have to take money out of the bank. It seems as though most of them do take it out. I've usually got a couple hundred bucks in cash in the house. It would be pretty simple to bug out with the food that I have plus $300 or so. Pay an acquaintance some money to drive you somewhere, then pay a trucker to get you a little farther. Get out in the woods and live there for 4 weeks. Good luck finding me.

I have spent many, many months at a time in the middle of nowhere. I could do 4 weeks. The one issue I see is you cannot break the law in doing this game.

If I were really on the run, I would be stealing cars and such to get from one place to the next. I would break into homes to eat as well.

I wouldn't be doing illegal things. But, I'd be about as boring as you can be. I'd find a little pond in the middle of nowhere and fish for my meat. I'd eat dandelions. I'd eat berries (which are fairly abundant in the times they filmed at least part of the show [June and July]).

Walk down the road a little ways at night and you can find plenty of deer hit by cars in the summer. You may get some sort of ticket afterwards, but i'd pay a few hundred dollar ticket for illegally possessing meat if it means winning $250k.

My guess is they don't let you carry on the show, so no gun. Might be able to have a bow though.

I cannot watch the whole show ... Other things going on . What I have seen (last night ) is the 2 fellows kayaking on the lake . They needed to get to an ATM to get supplies . WTF. . after a day of hard paddling they are shown drinking from a water bottle like Poland springs ... .. Never see a fishing pole trolling off the side of the kayak . If they have no fishing license then perhaps they are not allowed .. (breaking the law not allowed .... ) ... Crawfish , frog legs , cattails ... and it is we need supplies . ???

After Colorado, I feel like we could do this.

I'd give the card to a friend (in exchange for $500) and tell them to take the money out to throw off investigators. While it may not be 100% effective, it might work long enough to get me a little further ahead.

You can only take $100 out at a time, and I guess you can't use any of your own money in your wallet.

I get the $100/time, so I'm hoping/guessing that just giving it to them for $100 or $500 (depends if they can use it once you give it to them) is enough to give you a better head start. An hour is nothing. After the first withdrawal, you throw them off a bit, but then I wouldn't use that card again anyways. If that friend can keep using it (hey, you sold/traded it to them fair and square), then you keep the $500 or whatever you sell it to them for and get all of your shopping out of the way right then. Go buy as much food or whatever else I need and bug it to the woods.

Have my wife make up a project list, I can hide from it for 6 months. Married guys should be good at this game. I can covertly sneak from the garage to the basement all day. My wife has been known to lose me at the mall.

I'm thinking you'd have to rely on friends of friends. First things first, get out $100 while the other person packs (or, ideally, grab your go bag). Drive your car somewhere remote and have that person pick you up. Have them drive you somewhere else and meet one of their friends. Get that person to drive you to a store to pick up any supplies. Have them drive you to some remote forest. Camp out for 4 weeks. I could go 4 weeks without surfacing, especially if I'm allowed to pack food from my house.

Without watching any of the show my first thoughts are you need to get off the grid asap and get far away.

Conceal your face, avoid cameras. Do not use your vehicle or any known associates. Do not call anyone. Do not use anything that touches the internet.

Hitch hike with random people or truckers or stow away on a train to Get somewhere remote. Walk along train tracks instead of roads. Get away from roads. Fish and forage whenever possible.
Just lay low and try not to get bored. It seems when people get bored they are likely to do something dumb. They need to have the mental discipline to stay incognito and keep a low profile.
