Congrats on finally getting your permit. Onondaga Cnty. started issuing non restricted permits again a few years ago when all three of the current judges were elected. You need to remember that when they come up for re-election.

So I live in Onondaga, my friends father has a pistol for me. How do we transfer that into my name and onto my license?
Both of you go to an FFL have the friends father say I am selling this handgun to this person. The FFL will take possession then you will do a 4473 and pay for the transfer. Then they will give you the receipt to take to the office they will add it then you go back and pick up the pistola
What office? The sheriffs office? Or the county clerk?

They will need the receipt and probably charge you another 3 or 5 bucks for an updated license with the pistol on it

Just curious...
If you have to mail your license in with paperwork to get a new pistol added how are you legally allowed to carry until you get your license back? Do you just have to not carry for a couple weeks?

You make a copy before you mail it in. That’s what I’ve heard anyways. I don’t know for certain since I haven’t put any pistols on my permit since all this Covid nonsense began.

When I got my G26 from my uncle I we just went to the clerk and added it to my permit. They just needed the serial number.
I don't know if he ever removed if from his, I think we're still co-registered to this day.
