WASHINGTON - The Supreme Court on Thursday declined to put on hold a new Illinois law that would ban high-power semiautomatic weapons like the one used in the mass killing of seven people at a 2022 parade in a Chicago suburb.

The justices did not comment in refusing an emergency appeal from a gun rights group and others.

I really don't understand the SC lately they say the states can't ban them but won't put a stop to this BS .

how many will be shot in Illinois this weekend ??

they have the highest gun ban / control laws ..

but they have the highest shooting rates ...

bring on the numbers ..

The S.C. knows damned well that this will result in registrations and people selling or turning in their guns. Yet the S.C. doesn't seem to care that people WILL be "injured" by this unConstitutional law. I just don't understand what their problem is. It's almost like they want to walk back their own decision.

Just curious. Do low power or regular power semiautomatic weapons exist?

the SCOTUS likes it to let it play out in the lower courts before they intervene ..

yeah it sucks .. rights are being delayed over that .. but it is what it is .. and i do think it should be changed ..

now that this case is a done deal .. the whole case will now be stent to SCOTUS in writ of certiorari ..

how they want it .. and it could be combined with a 9th circus case too

To be heard when? And when will a decision finally be made?
And, in the interim, people will be going to jail! Losing their jobs, their homes, etc.
Will the S.C. be giving those people restitution? No?


When there is a law that infringes a Right, it should automatically be enjoined until proven that it does not violate the Constitution.

I mentioned this before , Ran across a you tube years ago. It was a meeting of city or state lawmakers. One fellow was saying.. This law is illegal but we will have it on the books for 10 years before it is struck down .... and that was the plan all along.... Force their will on the public for years
