Industrial Velcro vs Gun Finish

For my Beretta 1301 I want to mount a side saddle to the receiver. I’ve only found one model made to screw to this gun and it’s $100. I have a side saddle from a mossberg 500 I no longer own.
If I use industrial strength velcro to mount this side saddle will it mess up the finish on the receiver?

Depends on the finish of the gun. I had used industrial Velcro to mount a side saddle on a mossberg 500 for a year that had been cerakoted. When I removed the Velcro there was no damage to the finish from the Velcro. Maybe for an extended period of time (years and years) the adhesive might do something to a finish.

Check out this stuff. It holds great and pulls off cleanly. As long as the gun finish doesn’t rust under the tape, there shouldn't be a problem.

I have industrial Velcro on the side of my parkerized Mossberg 500, and it hasn't caused any damage to the Finish.

Any self adhesive stuff, including Velcro, I stick on anything, I first apply a little heat gun persuasion to it first. So far so good, even on varnished surfaces. Sometimes a little of the adhesive will remain but is easily removed with paint thinner.
