Oh trust me, They pled a business case stating how effective they are working from home. That's something they will fight for. Meanwhile they are stealing time.

I saw an article that said the federal reserve agrees as well, but it was behind a paywall and I couldn’t read it. I do t like posting things I can’t read first. I’m sure black rock makes no politician contributions either.

My office was remote. Couldn't get shit done so 25% of us says screw it and went back full time. This was spring of 2020 during Covid 1.0. No traffic, no dress code, senior management was not to be seen an NO ONE IN THAT CREW GOT COVID. Best 8 months that followed. The office dipshits worked from home so no bullshit. I honestly wish others would go back home and work remote again. We treated like any other flu season and kept our distance, yelled shit across the office and laughed our asses off.

I'm an engineer. Been working from home about 20% of the time for 2 decades, 100% the past two years. I think my productivity has increased tremendously, for two reasons:

1) Meetings have been reduced in quantity and duration. In my opinion, 95% of the time spent in meetings is a complete waste. Everyone working from home has significantly reduced the overall amount of time I waste in meetings. We have fewer meetings, and we get right to the point in them now.

2) Social visits. The longer I work at my company, the more people I know. And the more people I know, the more people stop by my office to chat. That's been reduced by about 90% now.

As for the effect on my personal life, eliminating the drive to work has saved me 1 hour every day. I put that time into developing an exercise and lifting routine. I've lost weight and I'm ripped like I was back in college. There's all kinds of other benefits, like being home when my daughter gets on and off the bus, my dogs having a person around all day, etc.

I'm never going back into an office. If my company insists, I'll find a new one.
