Makes it a non-pistol grip yet is reversible. I don't know where your thumb goes but I bet it's as good as the spur or any of the other dumb compromises.
I don't think that going to work in NY. It works in California because they define a pistol grip.
“(d) “pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon” means a grip that allows for a pistol style grasp in which the web of the trigger hand (between the thumb and index finger) can be placed below the top exposed portion of the trigger while firing.”
Since NY had no definition, it is just a pistol grip wrapped in Kydex l just the same as a barrel wrapped in Kydex would still be a barrel.
In California since you cannot get a pistol grip style grasp, it is not considered a pistol grip. Had we had that definition we could use it against then and argue according to their law.
Easliy come off???? Hhmmm. The spur easily comes of. One screw....
NY has no definition. Maybe i could argue that my rifle has a banana grip, not a pistol grip, since pistol grips contain a magazine well.....I don't think that going to work in NY. It works in California because they define a pistol grip.

So could an airsoft rifle, doesn't mean its illegal.Looks like trouble to me.
Could be just enough for a cop to cause you problems.
That certainly sounds probable. However, I think they are just stupid idiots writing laws with the help of these Bloomberg backed groups as so called experts who have no clue as to how firearms really work. Fuck em....... Vague law. No definition. IMO and I am not an attorney, arguable if you made a reasonable attempt to comply.I read these posts and think wow just about every comment is how this is no good in NY good luck with that. NY has no definition of a pistol grip. Well they purposely wrote it vague to keep the sheep guessing and confused. Not one post has pointed that out.
The vagueness in the law can go both ways.
I didnt say its illegal but that doesnt matter if a cop doesnt know either. He may seize the weapon and you may have to jump through hoops to get it back while someone decides if its legal or not.So could an airsoft rifle, doesn't mean its illegal.
Mine did....sort of, its what I meant.I read these posts and think wow just about every comment is how this is no good in NY good luck with that. NY has no definition of a pistol grip. Well they purposely wrote it vague to keep the sheep guessing and confused. Not one post has pointed that out.
I just did not read your post LOL.Mine did....sort of, its what I meant.
A cop could cause you "problems" becsuse he has no idea if its legal. So he may confiscate your gun while his superiors try to decide if its legal.
That's like saying my ar is illegal because there's still threads existing under the cap.A Thordsen isn't a pistol grip. It's a stock. A Boar grip isn't a pistol grip. It's a goofy grip.
This is just a piece of Kydex over a banned feature. The feature is still there.
Those that say it's legal because it's vague, answer me this.
Can I wrap Kydex over a silencer?
Can I wrap Kydex over a trigger on a handgun? Can I I wrap Kydex over a 10 inch barrel without a tax stamp and claim there is no barrel there at all?
Can I wrap Kydex over a pistol to avoid registration?
If the answer is no, what makes this different? Give a different answer other than vague. I want to learn. Even Federal laws are vague.
How would that affect the silencer other than melting into a mess? That's like saying my ar is illegal because there's still threads existing under the cap.
If the cap becomes part of the barrel via pin and weld as per the ATF, then no.That's like saying my ar is illegal because there's still threads existing under the cap.

I can go with that answer. That makes sense. The reason your examples are different is because wrapping the Kydex around the grip stops the user from using the grip as its' intended purpose. Kind of like plugging a thump hole stock. No longer useable.
