I don't see anything in the safe act that talks bout triggers at all. The people who wrote the safe act are to dumb to understand what a binary trigger is anyway. The law was written by people who have most likely never even held any type of firearm let alone understand how to modify them. I think you are good to go as long as the ATF says it is all good. Along with that I have seen binary triggers for sale in gun shops and shows.
As a side note Florida just past laws that have something to do with any device that speeds up the fire rate yet they didn't mention triggers, yet it is safe to say binary triggers do just that. I am sure people are going to be confused down there.

The FL law is aimed at bump stocks. Absent any ruling from ATF, FL has no idea what a binary trigger is. FL is basically pro gun as the concealed carry law has dropped gun crime 35% since enacted. Still a few stupid laws like no carry in a bar that is ignored after the muslim shot up the gay bar.

Depends. I hear if you have 13 pounds of pull on the arms of bifocals, they’re ok with it.
Believe triggers are specifically mentioned in PL265 in definition of machine gun and also in definition of semi automatic. Seems binary trigger doesn't fall within either definition. My guess is a rifle with a binary trigger would be interpreted as being a firearm within NY but that is only my opinion nothing more.

So then is it machine gun? Again it doesn't seem to meet any definition, including rifle. 1 pull results in 2 shots (when reset) seems a case can be argued that it is machine gun under NY law. BTW I don't believe it is just trying to imagine what an anti-gun DA would conjure up.

Semantics. So how many rounds were discharged on the second continuous pull? Again, I don't believe (or really care what) it is but I can see a case being made by an overzealous DA that it's not legal within NYS. Personally I don't see why anybody would even want one of those triggers seems like an accident waiting to happen.

One. The answer is one. I do care however. Even if you don't particularly care for a certain firearms related product you should defend it voraciously. When you say you don't know why someone would want one it's the same as when "they" say I don't know why anyone would want an AR 15. Or any other firearms related thing. Eventually you are gonna care.
I said on the "Second" continuous pull. The answer is three (assuming there were at least three cartridges in the mag). I do agree with you conceptually, BTW. For the third time, all I'm saying is I think a case can be made that it's not legal under existing law. That's all.

What is your definition of "continuous pull"?
If you pull the trigger and DO NOT RELEASE it and more than one round fires I would call it a machinegun. That is not the case here.
