In case anyone needs a re-cap... Hildabeast and the Dems paid for a phony report with made up BS about then candidate Trump. FBI and DOJ used the made-up phony report to get a FISA court to authorize the surveillance of then candidate Trump and his staff. They lied to the FISA court about the source of the information - Hildabeast and the DNC. Then they spread a wild tale about Russian interference in the election.

To be fair, you are missing the part about the “dossier” being originated by a Republican “Never Trumper” then picked up by HRC et al. There are bad guys on both sides of this thing. Please don’t assume that I am anti-Trump, because I am not.

What is new with this FISA Warrant release?

It appears to confirm what has been suspected all along - that the fake "dossier" was used to grant the FISA warrants, even though the FBI knew it was opposition research paid for by the clintons. We don't know this for a fact because of all of the redactions. But it probably is.

My take on the whole mess is the govt discovered the russians were targeting the DNC and GOP servers and started an investigation. When it became apparent trump would win obama, brennan, comey and the rest of them decided to use the existing investigation for partisan purposes. The dossier was used as a means to investigate trump's campaign and use selected leaks to get him to resign or get him impeached. This is abuse of power pure and simple - using the intelligence agencies to discredit trump and overturn the results of the election. They can't stand the fact they lost to trump and still consider him illegitimate. Given that mindset then anything they do is justified. I'd really like to see the whole crew, including obama, convicted and sent to jail. It won't happen but it's a nice daydream.

Not quite. The never trumper paid for opposition research from Fusion GPS during the primary cycle, but NOT for any steele fake crap or a dossier. Even Adam Schiff was cornered in to clarifying the Steele effort and dossier were all later.
