Just bought a Benjamin 397 for the kids

I just bought a Benjamin 397 for the kids to use at camp and to solve my squirrel problem. They eat the fruit off my fruit tree. I’m going to start plinking them.

I’ll test her out this weekend. I ha e to shoot my ruger lcpII this weekend, my sr22 that came back from ruger, sight in my Henry 22 and Nikon p22 scope. I also have to sight in my sons ruger 10/22 to getnit dead on. It’s generally sighted in, but have to do some fine tuning. Should be a fun weekend.

Thanks. I do know they are not in season. I’m also likely not allowed to shoot them in my city, but I just can’t take it anymore. I grow fruits and veggies for me not for them. It’s life and I doubt I will ever get caught since my backyard is really secluded.

I live in the city as well, it seams every three year or so we get invaded by gray squirrels.
I like them but when they start going in to the attic chew the wood dowels on the pigeon lofts to get in and eat the pigeon feed it game on.

The old lady bought me a 1,000 feet per second 177 caliber pellet gun
I have gotten rid of all kinds of critters with it.
I started my grandson out on a typicalred Ryder BBgun, then the pellet gun then on to 22lr, now he is shooting 32 & 38 caliber revolvers.

Mine has a scope and it shoots just like a 22 rifle, the pellets will.go threw a inch & a quartet board.

It will take down feral house cats if you rib shoot them, I have no cats so any cat that shows up in my fenced back yard is feral.

And I do eat the squirrels I kill. Soup.

It’s quite. I do appreciate your concern. I’ve had a few of my friends that are local cops that said shoot them so I think I’ll be ok. I just step not even all the way out my back door and bam.

I like it. I shot it from about 20 feet and it buried the pellet in a tree with 4 pumps. You can pump it 10 times. Easy to load and sight in. I’d buy it again.

I also think it’s a great survival tool as well. You can shoot small game silinetl without drawing attention.
