Just a few hours. One on one session with Ben of @OnSight Firearms Training.
Training was great, as per usual. Being the only student was really nice.
I learned that my grip was sub optimal and how to fix it, you just can't learn everything from print and videos, and also how to slow down and be mindful of what I am doing as opposed to being a spaz. But really the most important thing I learned is that I can do a lot more with a pistol than I would have thought.
Thus was early on in the session. By the end I was grouping tighter, faster at twice the distance. I was banging steel at freakin' 50 yards! I do not consider myself to be all that good with a pistol and I wouldn't have even entertained the idea of hitting a smallish steel plate at that distance.
I have a lot of room for improvement but I surprised myself today with Ben's help.
It was a really great couple of hours.
