At today's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) confronted AG Merrick Garland about a controversial memo on school board safety.
In theory there shouldn't *be* a federal AG. The entire DOJ should be gone. What I don't get is why on the state level an attorney general is elected independent of the governor and not appointed by the governor (as it should be), yet in the federal government, the AG is appointed by the president and not elected like a sheriff. The way the feds do it is so obviously vulnerable to corruption and bias. How can you have a department that is supposed to be impartial, set up to be partial?
He's not a bad choice, but I fear he's spent too much time in DC.Ted has my vote for president. He has the ideas and the balls of Trump but he acts more presidential.
You raise an excellent point, one worthy of its own thread. He's not a bad choice, but I fear he's spent too much time in DC.
Trump's greatest strength was that he DGAF.
At this point we *need* a streetfighter, not a "presidential" diplomat.
I *want* a guy who you can picture whacking Xi over the head with a folding chair.
