Karma- Rage mechanical broadheads

Been wanting to do a karma to pay it forward for a long time.

My impatience (ok, stupidity) is your win.

I picked up a set of Rage Hypodermics a few months ago; they are brand new, out of package only. They have not been shot and I am passing them on as I stupidly bought bow broadheads instead of crossbow heads (black instead of red collars) and I have moved on to some NAP's for deer season.

Rules are pretty simple:

I have picked a number between 1 and 1,000. Zero does not count as it is not a number. Karma closes next Saturday, August 4 and I will do my best to ship the following Monday 8/6.

Pick a number.

This ain't the price is right- closest wins up or down. In the case of an exact difference tie (one above/one below) I will go price is right and the lower number wins.

In case of an exact tie I will figure something out.

If someone nails the exact number (since we don't have a thousand members and I don't expect huge turnout), I have bonus karma in mind.

Just wanted to toss this out since I have these, opened 'em, won't use 'em, and appreciate all the info and advice from you bastids.

And if no one wants 'em- I'm good with that but fuck you.

The 3 blades are illegal due to the head design, this particular design, (when pulled rearward after deployment) the blades will catch on one another and not allow them to fold forward. They have been illegal in NYS since they came out, a picture of that particular 3 blade has even been used in the regulations book a few times now I believe, to show it is illegal.

I took a deer last year and the shot was bad (it turned at the last moment), but the rage dropped it fast due to the incredible cutting inside. I attribute the rear-opening Rage substantially to my ability to find the deer (previously using front opening blades, which I have since sworn never to use again). No exit wound, no lung, but enough at entry wound I found it.

Hope I win, I need some fresh ones I also took my first xbow deer last year with a rage. Both sides of course and bent the blades in the dirt. They fly pretty well. I couldn't get fixed to fly that well out of the xbow vs the practice tips. May go with fixed with vertical this year but definitely rage for xbow.

LMK when you have a nocturnal nock giveaway. I won't hunt without lighted nocks now, they are absolutely nuts. Too few people realize how nice they are to have.

If numbers were PMed to you and not public I would have picked around 490-495. This is because anybody trying to be clever on the bottom half of 1000 would pick 499, or 498, so this would very slightly one-up them. With it being public I thought I’d go yet lower so that I’d be far enough shy of 500 not to entice anybody to put one less.

But despite all that it’s surely mostly or all luck and whatever I am telling myself to feel clever is probably just BS.

i run fix blades on mine now .. short draw and only 50# on the bow .. i lost a nice buck my first time bow with mechanical's .. tracked him for like 4 miles
even after waiting 3 hours to start ..

The lighted nocks are great because you know instantly where the arrow went and whether it was a good shot. It just gives a fraction of a second better visibility and a quick feedback on whether you hit well or not.

It’s also fun to shoot at long distances seeing the light arc through the air and lit up 50 yards off.
