What I got from this was the kids making threats were not serious and it’s ok, but the gun owners are the problem.

I listened to the whole thing, i know we all say FUAC, but do we think it’s wrong to try to keep firearms out of people’s hands with mental health issues?
Should we as legal gun owners be subjected to having to get clearance by a mental heath professional to own a gun, or continue to own a gun?
What would be the protocol? Every year? Every 5 years?
Something has to happen. If we all said ok we’re giving up our guns, the next asshole will drive a truck into the side of a school or use a pressure cooker or any number of countless ways to hurt people.
I think that’s the biggest issue that us as gun enthusiasts have to try to convince others of: if someone wants to harm you, they have plenty of options besides a gun to do it.

I think it's the concept of whoo makes those decisions and based on what guidelines. Therein lies the scary area. I don't think people with legit issues should be given the opportunity to go on killing sprees but I also don't like the concept of someone trying to look in my head to determine whether I'm one of those people or not.

Asylums of heavily medicated people used to exist. I'm sure many of us have seen some of those abandoned establishments.
Those poor people never had a chance at sanity again. I have control of my brain and now way do I want one of my crazy ex relations saying I have issues that someone should look into.
