Laser Bore sighting kits

anyone have an opinion on which is a good, less than $100, Laser bore site?

I have looked at a few recommendations on YouTube, I would just like someone with real world experience to respond

I used a shell type bore sight for my 308, just sits in the chamber. Was pretty damn good. Got me close enough to zero so I could fine tune and get 2 deer Cheap enough and I got it on Amazon

at what distance will this work? less than 25 yards, I hope, 'cause my eyes aren't that good anymore

The further away you can pick an object out to focus on, the better it works.

I did this last week with an AR. I set the target at 50 yards, lined the upper with the bolt out so when I looked through barrel it was centered on the target, then adjusted the scope to the same point. When I shot it, it was less than 2 inches off in both windage and elevation.

Few years ago I bought Laserlite SRL-100 and I love it. I use it only to get the initial zeros after rebareling. If I am taking my time to line up and center everything at home, I am in the X or 10 ring with my first shot during live fire. My model is red laser for indoor use. Prior to that I used another laser bore sighter which went into the chamber. I could use it, but it wasn't nearly as good. My only complaint about my model of laserlite is that the batteries don't last too long. If you are struggling to see the dot in subdued light, change the batteries.

I use the Sightmark cartridge type laser bore sight. You can find them for around $25. They work well and save a bunch of ammo when sighting in.

Use use this same system. Typical cost is 2-3 rounds of ammo....and it works with ALL calibers. Only time it doesn't work is in a gun you can't look straight down the bore. It helps to steady the rifle as much as possible after looking down the bore so that it doesn't move when you're dialing the scope. Very helpful to have two people if you can. Will be doing this very thing in about an hour.

If you are struggling to see the dot in subdued light, change the batteries.

that is the issue with the the laser ones .. lighting has to be low to see it .. there not going to work at 50 yrds at high noon at the range ..

Use the back side of wrapping paper (with 1'' grid if possible) at 25 yards, (1/4'' per click at 100 yards)16 clicks per inch. I have the same laser as @Mosinitis but have not used it in years.

I have a cheap $20 one that comes with the interchangeable rubber bushings that you muzzle load. It works well enough.

I did have one of the bushings come off one time and get stuck in the barrel, but it was easy enough to knock out with a cleaning rod.

No they are still on, but at my age if it isn't scoped or dotted I have trouble.
I have stopped using my manual focus camera lenses.

Red dots on handguns are the best.

Just incase a threat is more than 4' away

Oh and for being on topic.

I picked on up years ago from shit bag Field and Stream. It was shaped like a 9mm round but the slide on my G19 and P07 would not fully lock up so it was completely useless to me so sadly my one and only experience sucked

6" off at 50yds is 24" at 200yds. For me that's in the stratosphere. With laser sighter I can get within 1"-2" at 300 yards.

There's nothing wrong with laser bore sights, but for most people they're not necessary. In my opinion, most people are better off burning up a few extra rounds than buying a cheap bore sighter that's going to be lost or broken the next time they want to use it.

I also use my eyeball, I'll pick out a knot in my pine wall 10' away or so and adjust the scope to the bore. I couldn't do it with my 450B so I started shooting from 15' or so from the target and adjusted between shots til I got out to 100 yds.

It depends. If you are building A2 configuration AR for example, you want to center the front sight base and secure it at home and then find your rear sight clickable windage zeros at the range. There are different options for different rifles for different people. The fact is, you can do it better and have more options with laser sighter. $100 dollars is not all that much comparing to other expenses. It takes me over an hour just to get to the closest rifle range.
Also depends on how serious you are about what you do. Most people aren't.

Well, after dialing the scope up and left the next shot was just inside the bullseye. No extra charge.

my neighbor has no idea how many guns have been bore sighted using this method on his mailbox.
