lemi-Shine?

I can't find Lemi-Shine any where he locally here.I got on to the Walmart website to buy some and have it shipped to the local store.
There are several different types of Lemi-Shine products to choose from.
Detergent Booster
Lemi Shine Shine Dishwashing Detergent
Dishwasher Cleaner
Laundry Detergent Booster
Shower & Tile
Dish Detergent Additive
Original Powder Dishsoap


What should I order? So many choices.

I think mine is the dishwasher cleaner. If you can't find it locally try searching Amazon for citric acid cleaner. I found mine locally so I didn't need to search for it. Give me a minute and I'll try to find a link to a few.

use very very little .. to much will leave stain marks i have noticed ..

You could also just use lemon juice. All lemi-shine is doing is adding acidity to your tumbler (I assume that's what you're using it for).

It also has a water softener that helps the dishwashing soap work better.

How much do you put in the tumble and do you guys use any other additives.
I have to swap out the walnut hulls before I use it again, how many times do you use the media before you discard it?

Are you talking about wet tumbling?

Actually what would be a good additive for the Wet stainless steel media.

Walnut Hull Media.

Corn Cob Media

Sonic cleaner.


I have all three types of tumblers, I haven't tried the Sonic Cleaner yet. The Stainless Steel wet tumbler does a superior job.
I picked up some 223 brass early last summer that was exposed to the elements for awhile and got tarnished.
I tumbled half in the Walnut Hulls and the other half in the wet tumbler. They cleaned up nice, but are still dark in color.
Isn't Lemmi Shine suppose to clean up the tarnish?

I have been adding Simple Green, Brasso, and Iosso Case Polish.

I have some Armoral Wash & Wax I was going to try out in the Walnut Hull Tumbler.

You can use it in either a wet SS tumbler or an ultrasonic. Most people use a pinch of lemishine and a dollop of armorall wash and wax. Depending on your water you can go up or down with the amounts.

You use lemi-shine in a wet tumbler...not a dry one.

And I use one .45ACP case worth in my tumbler.

In the wet tumbler just use a squirt of dish soap and a small spoon of lemi-shine. I actually do 2 tumbles. 1 hour to get the carbon off and then dump the water. Then repeat. The first tumble is to get rid of most of the dirt and carbon and for the cases not to marinate in that grey water. The next is to finish it up. On the second tumble if you end up with a green/blue water at the end your cases should be gleaming. Now here is the key. Make sure to really rinse the cases! If not that acidity from the lemi shine will tarnish them in no time.

ETA deprimed cases make the whole process easier

Have you tried the wash and wax yet? I know for my ultrasonic cleaner it made a huge difference in how long the cases stayed shinny. Of course that's if you care about that sort of thing.

Nah. Never tried it. If the casings get a little tarnished down the road it doesn't bother me. Especially since they will be dirty again as soon as you fire them. To each his own.

Agreed I figured I would try it because everyone raves about it. After using it I agree with the hype. No added work and nicer cases. Price is a little more but as little as you use I don't worry about it.

i did a quart mason jar 3/4 full of water .. a dash of soap and like a 1/4 teaspoon of lemi shine with the 357mag brass ... shake and sit .. shake n sit .. cleaned the crap out of it but did get some staining .. so go from there .. i think using lemi shine aka citric acid is like reloading .. start small and work up ..

I went to a local gun shop yesterday and bought $349 worth of loading supplies and this morning I picked up a used Lyman tumbler that came with two tubs, a new container of Lyman Green Corn Cob media and a new container of Frankford Arsenal Treated Walnut Media #5 for $30. I'll be loading every weekend until Spring.

I have the Hornady Lock & Load Classic set up. Last fall I took an old Pacfic press to a friend who does machine shop work and a adapter to make the single stage Pacific press into a Lock & Load Press. I took it back to him last week to trim the top of it down a little over a 1/4" so when I bring the ram up it will be exactly the same distance as the new Lock & Load Press. Then I can use the dies that are set up in either press.
I have to buy another Hornady Powder Measurer to set up next to the other press. I have the Rifle and the Pistol micrometer pieces to regulate the powder drop.

I pissed at Cabelas, I spend a butt load of money there and other gun shops. Now they are charging five cents for a bag, Bull shit on that. I'll be shopping elsewhere from now on. The gross over $300.000 a day and they want five cents for a bag, not from me. I've spent over $500 so far this year on gun stuff and will spend over $3,000 this year on gun stuff. Cabelas won't see any of it.
