Yup...the "Fight for Fifteen" will do just that. There will be at least fifteen self-service kiosks at the fast food restaurants on every city block.

Quick serve dining like McD's has always been a game of pennies. Margins are very small so volume sales are critical. When .gov requires a minimum wage increase the money has to come from somewhere - can't come from infrastructure or materials/food so staff the easiest to eliminate. You don't have to pay benefits or unemployment insurance for a kiosk.

Next they will tax the shit out of them to make it not worth it. We just put in a bunch of robots because people that put cheese in pockets make more than $15 per hour and get great benefits. Honestly the people at mcdonalds have a lot harder and more thought involved job than the people that I am speaking about. So now robots took thier job and they can't understand why. Full health benefits, no deductible, full dental, vision for $30 per week family. That's why I pay $600 per month for worse health care. That's why I still have a job though.

Everyone is focused on the minimum wage workers with this hike. Yeah, it's crap, and never works, nor makes any economic or social sense, but there is a much larger issue.

The non-minimum workers. After years of college and hours of work put in, and qualifications and liability and all that, many, including myself, get less than or equal to that minimum now.

Know how many skilled people you will have if unskilled people make the same, or MORE!?

Well...in WNY we don't have to worry yet as the minimum wage is segregated from NY $hitty as the right to carry pertaining to full carry permits. When it does get to $15 an hour, a person will need a minimum of a 2 year degree to qualify

I wonder how much they pay those kiosk's per hour. Also, instead of offering them health insurance benefits do they just offer technical support plans?
