I watched the video. Looks bad on the surface. Unless he was reaching for a weapon in the car, the cops will likely have a problem. The cop fired like 7 shots at point blank range at his back while holding on to his shirt tail. Not sure how he is still alive unless the cop missed badly.

Of course, the Wisconsin governor chimed in. Even worse, as he is quoted, it reads like he has declared not just this cop, but cops in general to be killing black men regularly.

I spent time drinking in Kenosha when I was stationed at the Great Lakes Naval base in North Chicago nearby. It’s a rough blue collar area. It will be interesting to see what happens now. As of last night there were already signs of anger and violence beginning. And it is smack dab between Chicago and Milwaukee.

A scary situation and a good shoot. Guy made a clear deliberate decision to retrieve something from his car while already at gunpoint and not following commands. The fact that he was at gunpoint from the start shows that he was already out of control and a safety threat to others. One can reasonably believe he was on a clear path to retrieve a weapon from the vehicle. He wasn’t going for a bologna sandwich. There were also children in the vehicle that were at risk from his actions. Once again a situation that could have been avoided by complying with basic instructions. When will these idiots learn?

The lack of a weapon doesn’t really mean much. You don’t know what he verbally said and regardless if a weapon was in the car or not the action was threatening especially given the circumstances. What if he said he was going to kill the kids? What if he said he was getting his gun? Behaving like that while at gunpoint leads the officers to reasonably believe he is going for a weapon and justifies the shooting. You don’t have to wait to be looking down a barrel or until x shots have been fired at you or the kids in order to eliminate the threat. Were the officers in fear for their lives or the lives of others including the kids in the car? A reasonable person would say yes.

Going to have to agree that there could be a total circumstance to make the officers on edge. This wasn’t like the guy was complying and was shot or something. He was moving fast and going for something in the vehicle and disobeying commands.

Either way rioting will happen under the guise of justice.

I have never been a fan of second guessing the police in situations like this one here. I will not start today.

Good or bad on the part of the officer matters little in this video; I blame this ignorant black man. Simple instructions that apparently he did not have the brain power to comprehend.

He would not have been shot if he listened to the near 100 times the officers told him to get down, drop the knife and relax.


As for the riots that occurring in this community, think it is far away? Every American community is going to feel this, the war will come into your backyard sooner or later.

I will hazard a guess that what that guy saw in the past few weeks lead him to believe that the police were to afraid of losing their jobs to do anything about it. People spitting punching kicking throwing rocks looting vandalism, destruction of statues , violence, Trying to provoke a deadly response which would give them legitimacy in the news. The Police response was nearly non existent. The fool misread this as he could do anything , the police lost their ability to police. My guess is that he believed the police could or would not do a dam thing, Maybe he was at the riots and saw this first hand, , I dont know. It looks like he completely misjudged the situation .

Can you articulate a reasonable and specific suspicion that the police were in the wrong from the start? Please include all of the details. The burden is not on them to prove they were right. It is on you to prove they were wrong. From everything the video shows it was a good shoot. Seems like you have a pro-criminal bias.
