Not sure if your response is sarcasm or genuine, but in this rural area of Colorado deputy response times can be significant.Should've waited for the police. They are the only ones qualified to handle situations like this.
I sort of figured because it was Carlos Hathcock. In hindsight the main reason I posted is likely after I saw the 18 minute response time average for an active school shooting and then the near 1 hour response times for Detroit, New Orleans, and most rural America. I did not know it was typically so poor. I also understand that active shooter response times may be getting a bit longer in order to coordinate multi unit simultaneous arrival in part for officer safety. He was sarcastic.
Quite right.He was sarcastic.
This is why I won’t be disarmed. A lot of break ins in my area again. Not sure if your response is sarcasm or genuine, but in this rural area of Colorado deputy response times can be significant.
According to Homeland Security the average police response time to an emergency call for a shooting in a school is 18 minutes. Even in heavily patroled NYC which has better than average urban city response times, "According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, New Yorkers wait an average of 9.1 minutes for police after a 9-1-1 call." On the other end of the spectrum for urban response to an emergency 911 call "Detroit always comes in with some of the longest police response times. Topping the charts at 58 minutes."
Even though being able to wait for police to respond in an emergency is the most desirable outcome, sometimes an engaged citizen is needed for a better chance to survive until the cavalry arrives.
