For the extra time the person taking the special order takes and the extra time the worker takes to make up the special order, and the server takes to identify the custom order, as a shareholder I want to know why the special order snowflakes were not charged more for their custom order! In progressive States with new minimum wage requirements that extra time costs as much or more than the 25 cent discount the plaintiffs claim. I wonder if I can sue the snowflake plantiffs for eroding my share value, dividends and EPS for their free custom orders.

Nope. Everything from ordering to serving is geared and set up for standard orders. Especially when automated. Also the more automation, standardizing, and robotics are used to control costs in the face of artificially escalating wages the more impact non standard orders will have.

Not that many places are automated yet. Get less, do less, and charge more for it.Still ripping off the consumer. I still cant see how this costing them anything , instead of the consumer saving money on the cheese , the company saves money on the cheese , and profits more from the burger.

Exactly. They don't serve what you want or like, dine elsewhere. How about I go into a grocery store to the bakery and decide I don't want any of the frosted cakes available in their bakery case. I want a cake without frosting. Should I now file a lawsuit because I'm paying for shit I don't like? This lawsuit is horseshit yet I predict it will be a payout for shitbags.

She won that case because she proved that McD's was keeping and serving their coffee at ten (IIRC) degrees higher than their competitors to "improve flavor" and brew coffee less frequently, and she would not have sustained the injuries she did from other coffees. The run away plaintiffs lawyer coffee case is a bit of an urban myth. I hate plaintiffs generally but there's more to that story.

I am actually one of the people who order quarter-pounder w/o cheese. It doesn't add any flavor, just extra cholesterol. My biggest complaint is they manage to screw up the order and include cheese half of the time, senile 20 something morons. Cheese should be extra and you should ask for it.

Well...I guess in it's purest sense the menu staes 1/4 pounder with cheese...x amount. No 1/4 pounder plain on the menu and no substitution sign either. So now people want the place to cater to their wants. IF I can't get what I want at one place.....I know this is a new idea, I go elsewhere.

When you go to say, Wendy's there are cheeseburgers, and cheese burgers with bacon , the cheese burgers with bacon are more expensive because you obviously have bacon on it , which is why they charge you more obviously. the ones without bacon are cheaper because they obviously have no bacon . And for some unexplained reason , this logic doesn't apply to cheese. I think you guys are prejudiced against cheese.

If I run an auto shop and have a special for oil changes, less than my usual price, and you come in and say change the oil, but the filter is ok and not to change it, you are still going to pay the "special" price. There's no discount for abbreviated orders. If you want that, then I'll charge ala cart, you'll pay for each quart of oil, the labor, and handling and disposal fee, etc.

Cheese is exspensive, they charge extra if you ask for extra cheese, because of its cost. Cant expect anything for free right? except them, when you order it without cheese they pocket the cost of the cheese which you payed for. Its pretty simple . Don't charge me for something I don't get, then charge me extra for the same thing if I wanted it. Theres costs involved. for the consumer and the company Only for some reason you guys are ok with them ripping the public off . Now the consumer has to pay for the cost of the cheese that he didn't order. I don't know in what universe that is considered fair.

I agree completely with your assessment, however, the in my view, this is easily fixed. All Micky D's has to do is offer a quarter pounder without cheese at a reduced cost. or, simply state, no one can order anything other than whats on the menu.
what bothers me is the "sustained injuries" part. what freaking injuries? is this a mental breakdown injury, did someone slip in a piece of cheese, this part is nothing but a money grab, period
