Have had it for a bit, but under a year. The bolt is spinning in the threads. I havent taken a look at it yet since i got it cause i havent gone home yet. Should have looked at it there but I was in a rush. I never took the accu stock off since i got it but it seems everything is pointing to some screwed up threads.

Did the screw come out hard when u first took the factory stock off?

not what seemed excessive. it was kinda tight screwing it in without the chassis in place but once again, not to the point where i had to crank on it to move, i just moved it in and out a few times and it loosened up but it was very clearly threading.

Got my chassis today! Originally was going to put my savage 223 in it but picked up a 6.5 cm so that is going into this chassis. Just need to get a pistol grip and some mags. big thanks to bullet guy 35F4215D-5C75-49DA-BA07-04776DF6594E.jpeg

Damn that's pretty. I really want one for my Savage now. Was considering a Boyd's too, but damn it that just made it a hard choice.

Switching to an MDT stock allows you to use AICS mags without anything else, right? Or is ordering an MDT for a Savage XP harder than others becaues it doesn't come w/ that type of mag from the beginning?

As far as I know yes. Just drop your action into the chassis and use the mag well. The savage xp is the axis right?

Only chassis that is offered for the axis is the lss chassis.

Yup! Well that's good to know. I was 90% sure. Now I wanna see if the price of the MDT is the same value vs the price of a Boyd's stock. I reallllllly like the look of the MDT though, and the chance to use better accessories kinda answers my own question. I sent BG a pm, we'll see.

Yeah, was going for the LSS, I figured that was more than what I needed, considering the action that's going in it, haha. Just want some better accessories and a better bed for the gun. I don't know anything about the other chassis anyway.

There are a lot of option for chassis but they can get expensive. I go with chassis systems cause it is just easier. No bedding needed

Don't look at it that way. The Axis is a much better rifle than given credit for and most of them have outstanding accuracy, especially considering the price. You just can't beat it. The only reason I bout my Axis 22-250 was the price but I was pleasantly surprised with how well it shoots. The biggest downfall is the junk factory stock. The MDT chassis should really make them a sweet rifle. Out of my grasp price wise for now, but I can hope for the future.

My buddies dad has a axis 270, no accutrigger. This rifle was purchased after the name change so it has been a few years. He was pounding tomatoes at 200 yards. I shot the rifle, the trigger was way to heavy for my liking but the axis can shoot. He had a trigger put in but I have not shot it.

I don't have an Accutrigger, but I modified mine to pull lighter and have a shorter pull. @FrankenCub is right - it shoots pretty decent now, so I imagine w/ a better stock like this, I can do even better.
